The EEG Community Framework is now live!

Previously known as the EEG Manifesto, this collective initiative is about designing a set of deontological guidelines aiming to reshape our practices, our institutions, and our scientific culture.

I first presented this initiative at cuttingEEG in October 2024, in the name of our core team.

Read all about it here and consider engaging/signing/discussing!

Join EEG101: Our new European Network on Open & Rigorous EEG Science

EEG101 is a new European COST Action network focussed on making EEG science more open, reproducible, and inclusive.

By joining, you will become part of a vibrant European and international network of scientists, clinicians, and technologists, and gain access to funded opportunities such as Short-Term Scientific Missions (lab visits), Virtual Mobility Grants (remote collaborations), Training Schools, and Conference Grants.

You can also contribute directly to Working Groups on Reporting Standards, Data Curation and Harmonisation, and the EEG101 Manifesto/Community Framework, helping to shape the future of EEG research. Membership is open to anyone with an institutional affiliation in Europe. Apply now via e-COST to join a Working Group and access these opportunities: https://www.cost.eu/actions/CA24148

Workshop: "Aesthetic Experience Decoding with Multi-modal Passive Brain-Computer Interfaces" @ BCI Conference 2024 in Graz

I will be part of a workshop on this years BCI Conference, organized together with my colleague Marc Welter from INRIA Centre Bordeaux, France. The workshop connects experts in the field and will focus on the use of BCIs to decode personal preferences and aesthetic experiences. We discuss how multi-modal data integration, including EEG, fNIRS, ECG, and eye-tracking, can be used to enhance the understanding of aesthetic experiences.

I thank the Guarantor of Brain for granting me a Travel Award.

New contribution: Eye Tracking support for MNE Python

Last year I got a scholarship to participate in the MNE-Python 2022 Code Sprint. Besides some fixes and work in the documentation my main goal was to enable MNE to read and support Eye Tracking data.

We now merged a first big PR (thanks to Scott Huberty for joining me and pushing us forward!):

MNE now has a dedicated class for eye tracking data and can import SR Research's proprietary ASCII files (or work with data in numpy arrays). Check out the first tutorials here and here ;)
